Here’s the latest on Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill looks to be a game-time decision on Sunday when the Miami Dolphins host the New York Jets.

“Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill (questionable, ankle) is shaping up to be a game-time decision,” wrote ESPN. “He’s hardly a slam dunk to play after missing the entire week of practice. But the Dolphins will discuss his comfort level with playing before kickoff on Sunday. The Dolphins have trusted veteran players at times to make their way onto the field on game days despite not practicing — Terron Armstead is another example there.”

The All-Pro wide receiver would be very helpful as the Dolphins try to get back on the winning track and improve their playoff fortunes against their AFC East rivals in the 1 p.m. start. The 29-year-old also is trying to become the first NFL player to gain 2,000 receiving yards in a season, a goal he set for himself prior to the campaign.

Miami is coming off a surprising 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Monday night. Hill was injured in that game and did not play his usual amount of snaps.

The Dolphins are taking a 9-4 record into the contest against the Jets, who they defeated 34-13 at New York on Black Friday during NFL Week 12.

Hill had nine catches for 102 receiving yards and a touchdown in that first meeting against the Jets, who feature star cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed in their secondary. If Hill is unable to play, the Dolphins will rely on Jaylen Waddle to lead their receiving corps.

Miami also could be without running back De’Von Achane, who is questionable with a toe injury.

The offensive line also is in flux after center Connor Williams was lost for the season with a knee injury suffered against the Titans. Liam Eichenberg filled in for Williams but injured his calf and is listed as questionable on the final injury report. Robert Hunt (hamstring) is out, but Armstead could be in line to play despite a knee/ankle injury that has him listed as questionable.

The Dolphins this week signed center Jonotthan Harrison as a possible replacement. The veteran, who has not played in the league since 2019, said he was on his couch watching Netflix when he got the call.

Hill has gained 1,542 receiving yards in 13 games this season, a pace of 2,016 receiving yards for 17 games. Missing one game would put that pace under 2,000 yards and could be detrimental to the Dolphins’ possible playoff positioning with tough games against the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills still up ahead.
