Report: Miami Dolphins re-sign familiar face in time for game vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Miami Dolphins have added a familiar face to their active roster ahead of their matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Miami has re-signed wide receiver Robbie Chosen to its practice squad and elevated him for the game, per the team.

Chosen has had a bit of a chaotic season with the Dolphins. He initially signed with the team in April and was subsequently released in August, but he was quickly signed back to the practice squad in September. He bounced around between the active roster and practice squad in September before sticking around with the NFL squad for a good chunk of the season.

That was all before he was waived earlier this week. Now, he’ll be back in a Dolphins uniform.

Chosen’s lone catch so far this season was a 68-yard touchdown reception against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 24. The 30-year-old receiver went undrafted in 2016, but he was ultimately signed by the New York Jets, and he played the first four years of his career with them.

He signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and played over two seasons with them before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2022.

To this point in his career, Chosen has 376 receptions, 5,024 receiving yards and 30 receiving touchdowns. If nothing else, his addition should add some depth to Miami’s receiving corps for the game against Las Vegas. Miami enters the game with a 6-3 record, which is the best in the AFC East. Meanwhile, the Raiders are riding a two-game winning streak and currently sit at 5-5 on the season.

Things have gone pretty well for the Dolphins so far this season. They lead their division, have a wildly productive offense and appear to be in prime postseason position. However, they still have a relatively tough schedule ahead of them that they need to get through before attention can be shifted to postseason play.

In addition to the game against the Raiders, who appear to have found new life under interim head coach Antonio Pierce, Miami still has to square off against the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, among other teams. Over the final stretch of the season, the Dolphins will get an opportunity to show exactly what they’re made of.
