Report: Miami Dolphins get even faster by signing former Cleveland Browns wide receiver

Ahead of their matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 19, the Miami Dolphins have reportedly signed former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Anthony Schwartz to their practice squad.

Schwartz is widely regarded as one of the fastest players at his position in the NFL.

The speedster ran the 40-yard dash in 4.25 seconds back in 2021, which was the fastest time of any player in his draft class. Additionally, he ran track at Auburn University and starred for the Tigers.

Schwartz was drafted by the Browns with the No. 91 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent his first two seasons in the NFL with Cleveland but wasn’t a focal point of the team’s offense attack, as evidenced by the fact that he didn’t log more than 135 receiving yards in either of his two seasons with the Browns.

The 23-year-old wide receiver is now joining one of the best wide receiver corps in the NFL. Led by star Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins have racked up 2,676 receiving yards this season, the third-most of any team in the league. Only the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Commanders have totaled more receiving yards on the season.

Plus, Schwartz will have the opportunity to play alongside quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who has arguably been the best quarterback in the NFL this season.

Schwartz may have underperformed during his short stint with the Browns, but he’s still chock-full of potential, considering he possesses unique quickness and just turned 23 years old in September.

The Dolphins are certainly hoping he will star playing alongside great players in Tagovailoa, Hill and Jaylen Waddle, all of whom should make the game easier for Schwartz.

Schwartz will have his first opportunity to take the field as a member of the Dolphins when they take on the Raiders on Sunday.

After facing off against the Raiders, the Dolphins will then take on the New York Jets on Nov. 24 with the aim of picking up their third road win of the season.
