On Monday, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel provided injury updates on running back De’Von Achane as well as offensive linemen Robert Hunt and Robert Jones.

Firstly, McDaniel gave a positive injury update on Achane. He is set to designated to return from injured reserve and will practice with the team.

The rookie running back hasn’t taken the field for the Dolphins since injuring his knee in a game against the New York Giants on Oct. 8. He has spent approximately the last month on injured reserve.

Also, McDaniel offered some clarity on Achane’s injury.

McDaniel’s injury updates on Jones and Hunt were less positive. Both are considered to be “week to week.”

Hunt injured his hamstring against the New England Patriots on Oct. 29. The Dolphins went on to win that game at home by a final score of 31-17.

Jones, meanwhile, suffered a left knee injury in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 5, but surgery won’t be necessary. The game between the two teams was played in Germany.

Achane got off to a fantastic start to his rookie season with the Dolphins. In four appearances and one start with the team so far this season, he has accumulated 460 rushing yards, 15 first downs rushing and five rushing touchdowns.

Plus, his longest rushing attempt this season is for an incredible 76 yards.

Before he went down with a knee injury, Achane was on track to contend for the 2023 NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award and seemed to have a legitimate chance to win it. However, after sitting out for the last month-plus, it might be hard for him to win the award now.

But at least Achane seems like he’s ready to get back on the field for the Dolphins sooner rather than later.

Coach McDaniel and the Dolphins will try to remain undefeated at home when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 19. The Raiders are fresh off a win against the New York Jets on Sunday.
