Report: Miami Dolphins considering bringing Jalen Ramsey back vs. Las Vegas Raiders

According to a report, the Miami Dolphins are considering bringing star cornerback Jalen Ramsey back when the team plays the Las Vegas Raiders in November.

“Jalen Ramsey continues to impress in his recovery from a meniscus tear, which leaves the Dolphins with a decision to make sooner than later,” Jeremy Fowler wrote. “One consideration, I’m told, is to bring back Ramsey coming out of the bye, for the Nov. 15 game against the Raiders. The Dolphins travel to New England this week, then host the [Kansas City] Chiefs before the bye. Ramsey’s 21-day practice window began last Wednesday, so the Dolphins would have time to do this should they so choose. Perhaps Ramsey’s progress prompts Miami to activate him earlier, of course, but these are the dynamics in play.”

The Dolphins own an impressive 5-2 record on the season but are fresh off a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 22. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for 216 yards and one touchdown, while wide receiver Tyreek Hill racked up 88 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown both performed at a high level for the Eagles. Hurts totaled 279 passing yards, and Brown chipped in 137 receiving yards along with one receiving touchdown. Philadelphia will take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday with the hope of earning its second win in a row.

Ramsey has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams across his time in the NFL. He spent the first three-plus seasons of his pro career with the Jaguars, who drafted him with the No. 5 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville traded the cornerback to the Rams in the 2019 season, and he helped Los Angeles win a Super Bowl in the 2021 season. He was a member of Los Angeles up until the team dealt him to the Dolphins in March.

Ramsey totaled 88 combined tackles, 64 solo tackles, four interceptions, two quarterback hits and four tackles for loss in 17 games played with the Rams during the 2022 regular season. The 29-year-old also forced two fumbles and recovered one.

Dolphins fans should be hoping that Ramsey makes his Dolphins debut as soon as possible, seeing as how he has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for many seasons.
