Report: Miami Dolphins to be featured as in-season team on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’

A report indicates that the Miami Dolphins have been selected as this year’s in-season “Hard Knocks” team.

A release date has not been announced yet, with the Arizona Cardinals being featured in the previous show. As a point of reference, last season’s “Hard Knocks” ran from Nov. 9 through Jan. 11.

The Dolphins have enjoyed quite a successful 2023 regular season thus far. They currently own a 5-2 record, the best in the AFC East division right now.

Miami started the regular season off with a bang, as it won its first three games. The Dolphins beat the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, New England Patriots in Week 2 and Denver Broncos in Week 3.

The Dolphins’ win over the Broncos might be their most impressive victory of the season to this point. Miami scored a whopping 70 points in the win, the most points by an NFL team since 1966. The Washington Commanders, formerly known as the Washington Redskins, scored 72 points in a game back in November of 1966.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, running back De’Von Achane and wide receiver Tyreek Hill all played at a very high level against Denver. Tagovailoa threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns in the win and completed 23 of his 26 passing attempts.

Additionally, Achane ran 203 yards and two touchdowns, while Hill racked up 157 receiving yards on nine receptions along with one receiving touchdown.

Miami’s only two losses of the regular season have come against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. The Dolphins lost to the Bills by a final score of 48-20. Bills quarterback Josh Allen starred in the win, seeing as how he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns compared to zero interceptions.

More recently, the Dolphins lost to the Eagles on the road 31-17. Tagovailoa put together arguably his worst performance of the season in the loss. He threw for a season-low 216 yards and accumulated as many interceptions (one) as touchdowns.

Hopefully, the Dolphins will be able to put their loss against the Eagles on Sunday behind them and focus their attention on winning games in the second half of the regular season. Six of Miami’s last 10 games of the regular season will be at home, and the team owns an excellent 3-0 home record.
