Report: 5 players missing at Miami Dolphins practice ahead of huge matchup vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Miami Dolphins are preparing for one of their biggest tests of the 2023 regular season this week, as they’ll face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday on the road.

Facing a 5-1 squad away from home is never an easy task, so the Dolphins could use some positive injury news to help their chances. But on Wednesday, they were without several players during practice.

It wasn’t all bad news for the Dolphins during their Wednesday practice, as they were able to get star cornerback Jalen Ramsey on the field. The veteran won’t play this weekend but is evidently trending in the right direction.

Kendall Lamm, Xavien Howard and Connor Williams will all be key names to monitor as Sunday’s game gets closer.

Lamm hasn’t missed a game this season, and the same goes for Howard. Williams, meanwhile, has missed two games, including last weekend’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

The Dolphins are entering a stretch where they’ll face two legitimate Super Bowl contenders in a span of three weeks. After facing the Eagles in Week 7, they’ll get the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, with a game against the New England Patriots sandwiched in the middle.

At 5-1, the Dolphins lead the AFC East and are already seen as major threats to win their division, but if they can make statements against the Eagles and Chiefs, the conversation surrounding the team will shift to even bigger things.

The injury questions surrounding Miami’s offensive line could end up playing a key role in the game on Sunday. The Dolphins would certainly love to be as healthy as possible on that front, as it’s no secret how important the unit is to their overall success on offense.

After the Dolphins face the Eagles, Patriots and Chiefs, they’ll get a chance to recharge in Week 10 during their bye. A winning stretch over the next three games would give the Dolphins lots of momentum heading into their bye, which would be a fantastic way for the squad to wrap up the first portion of its season.

Miami will look to take a step in that direction this weekend.
