On Saturday, the University of Oregon football team defeated the University of Colorado Boulder by a final score of 42-6. The Ducks were leading 42-0 heading into the final quarter, but Colorado outscored Oregon 6-0 in the fourth.

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix was arguably the team’s top performer, seeing as he threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns compared to one interception against Colorado. Also, Nix completed 28 of his 33 passing attempts, which equates to an impressive 84.8 percent completion percentage.

Ducks wide receiver Troy Franklin also performed at a high level in the win. He totaled 126 receiving yards on eight receptions and had two receiving touchdowns.

After Oregon’s decisive victory over Colorado, Miami Dolphins safety and former Ducks star Jevon Holland took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to clown the Buffaloes.

Holland was selected with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after a two-season stint playing college football at Oregon. He totaled 31-plus solo tackles and four-plus interceptions in each of his two seasons as a member of the Ducks.

Arguably Holland’s best season of college football came during his sophomore season, the 2019 season. The 6-foot-1 safety racked up 40 solo tackles and four interceptions in 14 games played with the Ducks.

Holland’s contributions translated into a whole lot of success for the 2019 iteration of the Ducks. They finished the season with a terrific 12-2 record and went on to beat the University of Wisconsin—Madison in the Rose Bowl by a final score of 28-27. Holland ended up with five solo tackles in the victory.

The 23-year-old safety has played three seasons in the NFL, all as a member of the Dolphins franchise. He accumulated 77 solo tackles, two interceptions and 1.5 sacks in 17 games played with the Dolphins during the 2022 regular season (all starts).

In two games thus far during the 2023 regular season, Holland has posted 25 combined tackles, 16 solo tackles and nine assists on tackles.

Here’s to hoping that Holland will follow up his rock-solid 2022 regular season with an even better 2023 regular season. After all, at just 23 years old, the safety likely still has his best football ahead of him.
