The Miami Dolphins are set to hold their rookie minicamp next weekend, and they seem to be sending out plenty of invitations to different prospects.

Quarterback Henry Colombi announced on Thursday night that he has received an invitation as well, and it seems like he plans to attend.

Colombi recently completed his collegiate career by spending the 2022 campaign at Marshall University. He also spent time in college at Utah State University and Texas Tech University.

He played two seasons at Utah State but didn’t see much time, completing a total of 53 passes for 460 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

The 24-year-old then moved on to Texas Tech, where he also played two seasons. With the Red Raiders, he completed 205 passes for 2,356 yards, 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

As a member of the Thundering Herd last season, Colombi threw for 938 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions.

Obviously, he isn’t the most well-known quarterback prospect out there, but he had some flashes of brilliance during his time in college.

Colombi will look to impress Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and the rest of the team’s coaching staff during the minicamp. If all goes well, it seems like he could end up making it to training camp and eventually earn a spot on the team’s practice squad.

In order to make it that far, he’ll probably have to beat out signal-caller James Blackman, who threw for 2,471 yards, 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions last season at Arkansas State University. Blackman recently signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent.

The Dolphins have made some changes this offseason at quarterback, as the squad decided to bring in Mike White to be Tua Tagovailoa’s backup. Skylar Thompson, who started the team’s lone playoff game last season, remains on the roster as well.

Teddy Bridgewater was Tagovailoa’s backup last season, but the team decided not to retain him. Last month, Bridgewater was linked to the Detroit Lions, though they recently selected Hendon Hooker in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Only time will tell what ends up happening for Colombi, who will surely do everything he can to make a lasting impression.
