Report: Cincinnati Bengals Not Budging on Trading No.1 Pick to Miami Dolphins

2 Min Read

Recent reports have indicated that the Miami Dolphins are looking for a way to trade for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft to land quarterback Joe Burrow.

However, a recent update says that the current owners of the top pick, the Cincinnati Bengals, are not willing to budge on possible deal at the moment.

“I am told the Dolphins would like to go up and trade for that No. 1 pick and take Joe Burrow who they see as the No. 1 quarterback in this draft,” Dan Graziano said on ESPN. “I’m also told at this point the Bengals have given no indication that they’re willing to move out of that pick and intend to sit there at No. 1 and take Joe Burrow.

“I think you’re going to continue to hear this over the next 15 days. It’s entirely possible that the Dolphins continue to improve an offer and get to a point where they entice the Bengals, but to this point that has not happened.”

Perhaps the most promising indication that Burrow could end up in Miami is that the Louisiana State University product would reportedly be happy to end up on the Dolphins.

If his camp were to clearly tell the Bengals that he would not be happy to play in Cincinnati, it may encourage the Bengals to ultimately trade away the highly coveted top pick.

While Burrow’s future may not be entirely clear at the moment, it seems quite likely that he will end up a Bengal.

Luckily, there are quite a few other highly talented quarterbacks in this year’s draft that the Dolphins will have a fantastic chance at landing.
