Emmanuel Ogbah’s agent expects him back with Miami Dolphins in 2023 season

According to Emmanuel Ogbah’s agent, Miami Dolphins fans can expect the defensive end to be back in South Florida for the 2023 season.

In every NFL offseason, there is a fair amount of turnover on rosters across the league, but it doesn’t look like there’s much concern about that taking place with Ogbah.

There are legitimate reasons why fans have speculated about Ogbah’s future in South Florida. First off, he missed the second half of the 2022 season after being placed on injured reserve.

He suffered a triceps injury in the Dolphins’ Week 10 win over the Cleveland Browns, and that was it for his 2022 campaign. The veteran finished the season with just one sack in nine games.

It’s also important to note that the Dolphins made a big splash prior to the NFL’s 2022 trade deadline to add talent to their pass rush. Bradley Chubb was acquired from the Denver Broncos and given a hefty contract after he joined the team.

Time will tell how new Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio wants to approach things with the players he has available to him. The 64-year-old coach may very well install a system that uses Ogbah in a key way.

The former second-round pick has had some impressive seasons with Miami. In the 2020 campaign, he racked up nine sacks in 16 games. In the 2021 season, he once again had nine sacks, scattering them across 17 games.

If he does find himself with Miami in the 2023 campaign, it’ll mark his fourth year with the team. He’s surely motivated to have a big season after the way his 2022 campaign unfolded.

Still, a move involving the 29-year-old could get made in the offseason, so Dolphins fans will just have to wait and see if No. 91 is still out there by the time the season gets underway. Miami is looking to take another step forward in the 2023 campaign after ending its playoff drought this past season and nearly winning a postseason game.
