Miami Dolphins list 5 players as inactive for matchup vs. Detroit Lions

The Miami Dolphins are getting ready for their Week 8 contest against the Detroit Lions, and the team recently announced that five players won’t be suiting up.

Among those names, the most notable absence is safety Eric Rowe. The 30-year-old will miss his second game of the 2022 campaign. He has appeared in six games this season after sitting out Miami’s opener.

Fortunately for fans, the injury report indicates that Xavien Howard and Emmanuel Ogbah will be available.

Howard has been one of Miami’s best players on defense in recent seasons. He has missed one game so far this season, and the Dolphins gave up 40 points in that contest. The team is certainly glad he’ll be available on Sunday.

As for Ogbah, he missed his first game of the season during the squad’s Week 7 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The defensive end’s apparent availability against the Lions should definitely provide the Dolphins with a boost on defense. In six games this season, Ogbah has one sack and 10 combined tackles.

Miami has a chance to record its second consecutive win on Sunday. The team is looking to recover from the three straight losses it suffered from Week 4 to Week 6. That stretch of losses caused the team to drop in the AFC East.

The Dolphins started the 2022 season hot, winning their first three matches. Unfortunately, the injury bug caught the team, particularly quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Miami was able to put a stop to the losing skid last weekend against the Steelers in an ugly contest that saw both teams go scoreless in the second half. The Dolphins won 16-10 to move to 4-3 in the standings.

They may have an easier time on Sunday. Miami will face the lowly Lions, who currently sport a 1-5 record. Even so, the Dolphins will need to take the match seriously to ensure they get the victory and boost their chances of making the playoffs by the end of the campaign.
