Report: Miami Dolphins plan to be ‘very cautious’ with Tua Tagovailoa, who is doing well

As essentially all NFL fans know, the current situation with Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a very serious and concerning one.

Tagovailoa suffered a terrifying injury during last Thursday’s matchup between the Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals. Tagovailoa displayed symptoms of traumatic brain injury and was rushed to the hospital. Luckily, he was able to be discharged from the hospital that day.

However, there have been countless accusations regarding how the Dolphins dealt with Tagovailoa. He suffered what many believed to be a concussion in the previous game against the Buffalo Bills. Many believe that the Dolphins put Tagovailoa’s career and life in jeopardy.

At the moment, an investigation regarding how the Dolphins dealt with Tagovailoa during the game against the Bills is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the young quarterback, who was off to the best start to a season in his career, is doing well. The team plans to be “very cautious” with him going forward as he recovers.

“The Dolphins plan to be very cautious with Tagovailoa, and when he returns to game action will depend on his recovery and passing the five phases required in the league’s concussion protocol system,” Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported. “For those reasons, it is undetermined how many weeks he could miss.

“MRI and CT scans came back clean, and he’s doing well, according to sources.

“ESPN reported Sunday that images of Tagovailoa’s brain are being sent to three independent doctors to obtain as many opinions as possible about his condition. As of Saturday, there was nothing new or alarming that surfaced in the medical examination of Tagovailoa’s head and neck.”

The NFLPA has already fired the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant who cleared Tagovailoa to come back against the Bills. It appears multiple mistakes were made during the procedure.

However, a lot of fans have accused the Dolphins of using the consultant as a scapegoat while members within the organization, at least at the moment, get off scot-free. The truth is that this entire situation is an important reminder that health has to be the primary concern when it comes to any kind of head injury.

Given this report, it can be assumed that Tagivaloa will probably be out for multiple weeks as he continues to recover. The Dolphins will face the New York Jets on Sunday, and their following opponent is the Minnesota Vikings.

It would be a surprise to see Tagvailoa suit up for either game.
