The long wait for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. to get back on the field is something that will finally end on Saturday.
Bowden and the Dolphins will take the field against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a preseason clash. Bowden appears zeroed in on having a strong season, and it all starts on Saturday.
Bowden suffered a hamstring injury during last year’s training camp. He ended up missing the entire 2021 season.
The 24-year-old Bowden was acquired by the Dolphins from the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020. During the 2020 season, Bowden appeared in 10 games and started four contests. He grabbed 28 passes for 211 yards and also rushed for 32 yards on nine carries.
Bowden was originally selected by the Raiders in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Kentucky.
In his last year at Kentucky in 2019, he actually had a huge year rushing the ball, gaining 1,468 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Perhaps even more amazing was the fact that he averaged 7.9 yards per carry that season.
Considering the talented duo the Dolphins have at wide receiver in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, how much time Bowden will spend as a receiver is somewhat of a question mark.
Given Bowden’s rushing numbers at Kentucky, he may end up being an option in the running game for new Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel. Regardless of where he ends up, Bowden appears to be ready to give it his all.
