This offseason has been eventful for the Miami Dolphins. While they have brought in key additions to the organization, they have also lost some members.
The team is apparently losing another, as scout Lenny McGill will reportedly sign with the Las Vegas Raiders and take on a role with them.
McGill once played in the NFL, having served as a defensive back for a few teams. He entered the league in 1994 and debuted with the Green Bay Packers. He then moved on from Green Bay and had stints with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. After five NFL seasons, he retired from professional play and began serving as a scout.
The California native was a scout for the Packers from 2000 to 2008. He joined the Denver Broncos after that. In 2015, McGill joined the Dolphins organization.
The Dolphins have high expectations going into the 2022 season. They brought in a new head coach in Mike McDaniel. The franchise is likely hoping that the 39-year-old coach is just what the doctor ordered to improve an offense that has been subpar in recent years.
In the 2021 regular season, Miami averaged just 20.1 points per game.
Aside from coaching changes, the Dolphins have also brought in some reinforcements on the field. One of their most notable additions is Tyreek Hill, who Miami acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs for several draft picks.
It remains to be seen if the Dolphins have further plans to improve their front office or roster.
