Bill Simmons seemingly takes shot at Tua Tagovailoa while welcoming DeVante Parker to New England

Sports media personality Bill Simmons seemingly took a shot at Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa while welcoming DeVante Parker to New England.

On Saturday, it was reported that Miami is trading Parker to the Patriots, ending his lengthy stint in a Dolphins uniform.

Tagovailoa was the Dolphins’ starting quarterback for many games during the past two seasons. The University of Alabama product entered the NFL in 2020 and made nine starts during his rookie season. He has thrown for 4,467 yards, 27 touchdowns and 15 interceptions during his time in the NFL.

Throughout his football career, Tagovailoa has suffered many injuries.

Parker had plenty of issues staying healthy during his time with the Dolphins, and he only managed to play a full season once.

Whatever struggles Tagovailoa has had when it comes to hitting receivers in stride could be related to a number of factors. Only time will tell if the 24-year-old can improve during his third year in the league.

Given his tweet, it seems like Simmons thinks that Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is a better signal-caller than Tagovailoa. Like Tagovailoa, Jones played collegiately at Alabama.

Jones threw for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions as a rookie during the 2021 season. He was named a Pro Bowler and led the Patriots to the postseason.

Of course, the reality of Simmons’ comments is that he has made his name as an avid fan of sports teams in the Boston area. That bias no doubt translates into his opinion of Tagovailoa, who is set to continue developing his game under new Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.
