The Miami Dolphins reportedly are expected to start former first-round pick Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback again in the 2022 season.

Miami had been connected to rumors regarding Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson during the 2021 season, but it appears the Dolphins have faith in Tagovailoa to be the team’s franchise star heading into the 2022 campaign.

One Miami Dolphins receiver seemed to support the decision, as wideout DeVante Parker liked an Instagram post that shared that Tagovailoa is expected to start next season.

Parker, the No. 14 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, is coming off an injury-riddled season in 2021. The former first-round pick appeared in just 10 games for the Dolphins, but he did still finish the season with 515 receiving yards.

Parker supporting Tagovailoa as the team’s starter is a good sign for the Dolphins, as the two will need to be on the same page in the 2022 season for the Dolphins to make a run at a playoff spot in the AFC.

During the 2021 season, Tagovailoa appeared in 13 games (12 starts), and he compiled a 7-5 record in his starts.

The second-year quarterback completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 2,653 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

The Dolphins also upset the Baltimore Ravens in a game where Tagovailoa came in for an injured Jacoby Brissett.

Miami has proven that it can win with Tagovailoa under center, and it appears that Parker believes in his quarterback as the offseason approaches.

Parker and Jaylen Waddle will likely be Tagovailoa’s top weapons in Miami in the 2022 campaign.
