Emmanuel Ogbah is having a monster season for the Miami Dolphins.

The 28-year-old is in his second season with the organization, and he has made his presence felt.

According to a report, the Dolphins were hesitant to offer Ogbah an extension before the season started because they wanted to see how the campaign was going to play out.

“According to league sources, the Dolphins were hesitant to make an offer to extend Ogbah before the season started,” wrote Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel. “They told his camp they wanted to see how the season played out before trying to lock him up on a multi-year deal coming off a career year.”

As a result of Miami’s hesitation to re-sign the former second-round pick, his price is almost certainly higher today than it was before the season started.

Still, Ogbah would reportedly “love” to re-sign with Miami.

“There’s a comfort level and familiarity with the Dolphins, so Ogbah would love to re-sign,” Kelly wrote. “But he’s also aware the NFL’s a business, and this offseason is his opportunity to set his family up for generations.”

It sounds like Ogbah would even like to remain with the organization for the remainder of his career.

“That’s definitely been my goal, to stay here a long time, and stay for the rest of my career,” said Ogbah. “But whatever happens, happens. I’ll leave it in God’s hands.”

Ogbah has racked up nine sacks, 37 combined tackles and 10 passes defended this season. He has been a massive part of Miami’s seven-game winning streak.

Ultimately, only time will tell what the future holds for the sixth-year player.
