Report: Miami Dolphins make flurry of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game vs. Carolina Panthers

The Miami Dolphins made a trio of moves for Sunday’s home game against the Carolina Panthers, including placing safety Elijah Campbell on the injured reserve list.

The 26-year-old Campbell, who’s in his second season with the Dolphins, saw action in seven games this season before injuries sidelined him. During his time on the field, he contributed a pair of solo tackles to the Dolphins’ defense.

Prior to his promotion, Javaris Davis had spent his entire two seasons with the Dolphins on the team’s practice squad.

Davis, a 24-year-old cornerback, went undrafted out of Auburn University in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s on the small side at 5-foot-8, though he showed good speed at the NFL Combine prior to that draft, running a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash.

Sheldrick Redwine was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2019, where he played two seasons.

Earlier in the 2021 campaign, the 25-year-old Redwine played in two games for the New York Jets before being released. In 29 games over his three seasons, Redwine has collected one interception at safety.

The 4-7 Dolphins are hoping to continue their recent success as they try for their fourth straight victory against the Panthers, who enter the game with a 5-6 record.

That three-game winning streak for the Dolphins offered a badly needed injection of hope for the postseason after a frustrating 1-7 start.

The road is still a long one to the playoffs for the Dolphins, though they will host the New York Giants on Dec. 5. A bye the next week is then followed by a home matchup against the New York Jets on Dec. 19.
