Xavien Howard reveals inspiring message he told Miami Dolphins after impressive win vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Miami Dolphins defeated the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, which marked their second straight victory.

The Dolphins locker room was likely in high spirits after upsetting the AFC North-leading Ravens. Cornerback Xavien Howard gave an inspirational talk to his teammates, telling them they can compete with other teams in the league.

“You know, winning is fun, so we just got to keep that going and just try to control the things we can control,” Howard said. “Go back in the lab. Look over the stuff that we did wrong or messed up on and just try to get better each week.

“I’ve been feeling like that even when we were losing. I was feeling like we could compete with some teams. During this week Coach [Brian Flores] had mentioned, ‘Don’t be surprised.’ You know, a lot of people were shook that we ended up pulling this W off.”

Prior to Miami’s wins over Baltimore in Week 10 and the Houston Texans in Week 9, the team had been on a seven-game losing streak.

Its defense has played a huge role in its current win streak, allowing only 9.5 points per game. In the first seven weeks of the season, it had been allowing 29.6 points per contest, which was the second-worst in the league during that period.

Now that it stands at 3-7, Miami still has a chance to make the playoffs this season. Its next four matches will all be against teams with losing records. With such a favorable schedule, the Dolphins and their fans are hoping that the win streak will extend further.
