Jerome Baker says he used to be ‘starstruck’ by Tom Brady but now wants to ‘ruin his day’
- Updated: October 7, 2021
Miami Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker spoke about Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady ahead of the teams’ matchup this weekend.
Baker explained that he used to be “starstruck” by Brady. These days, that is no longer the case.
Jerome Baker: It’s an honor to play against Tom Brady. Early on I was starstruck going against a guy I played in Madden. But now I want to win. I want to find a way to ruin his day.

If Baker really does want to ruin Brady’s day on Sunday, it’s going to be a tall task. Opposing teams have had a hard time getting pressure on Brady this season, as Tampa Bay has a great offensive line.
Baker has started all four games for Miami this season. So far, he has recorded a quarterback hit, 18 solo tackles and nine assists on tackles to his credit. He has also defended two passes and forced a fumble.
The Dolphins could really use a victory over the Buccaneers to lift their morale, but that’s easier said than done. Tampa Bay is 3-1 and has one of the most talented teams in the league.
Miami will fall to 1-4 on the season if it can’t escape Tampa Bay with a win.
