The Miami Dolphins reportedly are signing center Austin Reiter off of the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad.
Reiter, 29, has 33 career starts in the NFL and started all 16 regular season games for the Kansas City Chiefs when they won the Super Bowl in 2019.
The move likely means that Miami offensive lineman Michael Deiter will be out for a while for the Dolphins.
Deiter suffered an injury in practice and reportedly may not return until late October or even November.
Reiter gives the Dolphins some insurance at the guard and center spots going forward.
A seventh-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Reiter has played for the Chiefs, Saints and Cleveland Browns in his NFL career.
The Dolphins are hoping Reiter can help fix their offensive line struggles after a slow start to the 2021 season.
