Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Raekwon Davis had a decent rookie season last year, recording 40 tackles and one tackle for loss.
The University of Alabama product revealed on Thursday that he was recently able to learn some things from former All-Pro defensive lineman Vince Wilfork.
“Yeah, he was here like three weeks ago,” Davis said of Wilfork. “He was teaching me his technique. Him looking at blocks, looking at formations. He was teaching me a lot of things when he was here at practice.”
Wilfork, who played collegiately at the University of Miami, put together a very solid career, winning two Super Bowls while being named to the Pro Bowl five times. He recorded 560 tackles and 39 tackles for loss throughout his career.
It’s good to see that Davis is taking the chance to learn from a player who was as impactful as Wilfork. Davis will hopefully be able to put some of what he learned to use during the upcoming season.
The former second-round pick will surely be hoping to help the Dolphins make it back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season.
