Report: Injury updates provided on key Miami Dolphins receivers

Some major injury updates have been offered on a number of key players for the Miami Dolphins.

For one, it sounds like Will Fuller is on track to return by Week 2 of the regular season.

“Fuller’s lower-body injury, which has sidelined him for three weeks, is not serious, a source reiterated,” wrote Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “He has been seen walking on the field — and riding the exercise bike — without apparent discomfort. The Dolphins expect him to play in Week 2 after serving an NFL suspension in Week 1.”

Fuller will miss the first game of the regular season due to a suspension. He received the six-game punishment during the 2020 campaign after violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy, and he still has one game left to serve.

A Week 2 return for Fuller would be great news for the Dolphins.

Additionally, it sounds like DeVante Parker will be good to go in time for Miami’s opening game.

“Parker, who has a history of soft tissue issues, should be fine for the opener barring any sort of health setback, according to a team official,” Jackson continued. “The Dolphins have always been careful with Parker.”

In the 2020 season, Parker totaled 63 receptions for 793 yards and four touchdowns. He played in 14 games.

On the topic of wide receivers, it was reported Friday that Lynn Bowden Jr. avoided a serious injury to his hamstring. He should be able to play in the 2021 season.

Overall, many of the Dolphins’ health issues seem to be unserious.
