Tua Tagovailoa’s message of confidence on entering season as undisputed starter for Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have increased expectations for this season after going 10-6 during the 2020 campaign.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is entering his second professional season, and this time, he is the undisputed starter.

Tagovailoa talked about the confidence that he has going into the 2021 season.

“I feel very comfortable,” said Tagovailoa. “When you’ve been in a place longer than a year, you know where everything is, the flow of how everything works. I just think when you know how things work, you adapt a lot easier to the culture of your surroundings. I know a lot of the guys from last year — just being able to have some of the guys in the offseason has helped.”

Last season, the 23-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins, and he threw for 1,814 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. He showed flashes of brilliance, but it was also evident that he needed some more time to develop.

With Ryan Fitzpatrick leaving the team during the offseason, Tagovailoa is now the Dolphins’ starting quarterback, and he will be hoping that he can lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season.

As the Dolphins prepare for the upcoming season, it’s great to hear that the University of Alabama product is comfortable and confident with where he is. His play will be key if the Dolphins hope to make it back to the postseason.

Miami’s regular season begins on Sept. 12 against one of their division rivals, the New England Patriots.
