On Friday, Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones made his support clear for disgruntled pro Xavien Howard.
Howard, 28, recently requested a trade due to feelings of being undervalued.
In the statement where he announced his trade request, Howard specifically mentioned his displeasure at being the second-highest paid cornerback on the roster. Jones is the first.
Howard led the NFL with 10 interceptions and 20 defended passes last season. He showed his worth as one of the elite corners in the league.
In the aftermath of his trade request, playoff teams have called about Howard’s availability. However, the Dolphins aren’t agog to deal the rising star.
As a matter of fact, Dolphins head coach Brain Flores is optimistic that the franchise and Howard can work things out. Flores sees Howard as an instrumental piece in the organization’s push to make the playoffs once again.
