It has been nearly five decades since the Miami Dolphins last won the Super Bowl.
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has expressed his desire to end the drought in the near future.
“I know when I bought the football team, one of the things I said was, ‘We want to do as much for the community as we possibly can, we want to be the best in class in the NFL and we want to win the Super Bowl,'” Ross said.
“Well, we’re two-thirds of the way there, and I hope to be here when we’re hoisting the Super Bowl on a very short period of time, with an emphasis on short.”
Ross bought a 50 percent stake in the franchise back in 2008. He then purchased an additional 45 percent of the team nearly a year later, making him the majority owner by a huge margin.
During his time with the organization, he has seen Miami reach the playoffs just twice.
However, the Dolphins have a good chance to turn their fortunes around in the next few years. They have several young prospects on the roster and can build upon their strong showing in the 2020 NFL season.
