Miami Dolphins legendary quarterback Dan Marino revealed the most important thing for current quarterback Tua Tagovailoa if the Dolphins want to win a Super Bowl.
“I hope he does,” Marino said when asked if Tagovailoa could lead the team to the title. “It would be awesome for everybody, wouldn’t it? The most important thing is to be yourself, be who you are and work your butt off. It’ll work out.”
Tagovailoa had an up-and-down rookie season after being selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He played in 10 games, starting nine, and threw for 1,814 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.
The Dolphins finished the season with a 10-6 record, but they lost in Week 17 to the Buffalo Bills to miss out on a playoff spot.
Tagovailoa will have more weapons to work with in 2021, as the Dolphins drafted Jaylen Waddle in the first round and signed wide receiver Will Fuller in free agency.
Miami certainly expects Tagovailoa to take the next step this season, and Marino seems willing to give the young quarterback advice so he succeeds for the Dolphins.
