Brian Flores says Tua Tagovailoa already seems ‘more comfortable’ ahead of 2nd NFL season

When the Miami Dolphins drafted Tua Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, they were hoping the young quarterback would turn the franchise’s fortunes around.

The Dolphins did win 10 games in the 2020 season, five more than they did in the previous year. However, they failed to advance to the postseason.

This coming season, Miami would love to reach the playoffs, and Tagovailoa will surely play a huge part in that pursuit. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores believes the University of Alabama product is already looking more comfortable on the field during the team’s offseason activities.

Unlike last year when the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the team’s training camp and preseason, Tagovailoa will have sufficient opportunities to learn the ropes this time around.

The left-handed quarterback is also two years removed from a gruesome hip injury that cut short his college career.

The Dolphins have given Tagovailoa a much better receiving unit for the upcoming season after acquiring Will Fuller and rookie Jaylen Waddle.

The team is hoping Tagovailoa will become more confident in passing the ball.
