Safety Malik Hooker is reportedly visiting with the Miami Dolphins after the Indianapolis Colts declined his fifth-year 2021 contract option.
Hooker was selected No. 15 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft and started 35 games for the Colts over the past four seasons before becoming a free agent this offseason.
Hooker suffered a torn Achilles during a Sept. 20 game against the Minnesota Vikings last season that caused him to miss the Colts’ final 14 regular season contests.
Hooker was a consistent starter for the Colts prior to the injury, compiling 124 combined tackles and seven interceptions in 36 career games.
The Dolphins bring back veteran safeties Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe for 2021 at the position group along with adding Jevon Holland, a second-round selection from last week’s draft out of the University of Oregon.
