Jacoby Brissett discloses what he expects out of working alongside Tua Tagovailoa on Miami Dolphins

After agreeing to join the Miami Dolphins in free agency, quarterback Jacoby Brissett expressed excitement about working with the team’s second-year quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa.

Brissett has five years of experience in the NFL, including two seasons starting for the Indianapolis Colts in 2017 and 2019.

The signing of Brissett was yet another example of how the New England Patriots pipeline has become a notable aspect of Dolphins head coach Brian Flores’ rebuilding strategy for the Dolphins.

Flores was on the Patriots coaching staff when they drafted Brissett in the third round of the 2016 draft and saw him start two games as a rookie.

While Brissett was dealt to the Colts the following year, it’s clear that Flores saw enough of the new Dolphins quarterback to consider him a worthy acquisition.

During Brissett’s two seasons as a starter with the Colts, he threw for over 6,000 yards and tossed 31 touchdown passes.

Brissett joins the Dolphins knowing that the team is committed to Tagovailoa as its quarterback of the future. Surely, Brissett will look to be a veteran mentor who can also step up and produce if needed.
