Report: Tua Tagovailoa offers clear sign that he’s fully healed from thumb injury

The fact that Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is no longer wearing protective gear on his thumb appears to indicate that he’s fully healed from his recent injury.

Tagovailoa had been wearing the protective gear after injuring his thumb two weeks ago during a team practice.

He was held out of the Nov. 29 road game against the New York Jets due to the injury.

In last Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Tagovailoa returned to start the game and enjoyed the most productive outing of his young career.

Tagovailoa completed 26 of his 39 pass attempts for 296 yards and also threw for a touchdown in the Dolphins’ 19-7 victory over the Bengals.

Heading into the final four weeks of the regular season, Tagovailoa will have to navigate a tough road of opponents as the Dolphins battle to reach the postseason.

Their first contest will take place on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
