Chan Gailey says he’d ‘hate’ to see Ryan Fitzpatrick traded by Miami Dolphins

Shortly after the Miami Dolphins announced that they had promoted rookie quaterback Tua Tagovailoa to the starting lineup, questions arose about the future of Ryan Fitzpatrick on the team.

This week, coaches have had to field questions about the team potentially trading Fitzpatrick. On Tuesday, offensive coordinator Chan Gailey said that he would “hate” to see Fitzpatrick go.

Fitzpatrick admitted that he was heartbroken by the team’s decision to hand over the reins to Tagovailoa. Despite that, he has been nothing by a true professional since the announcement was made.

With that in mind, there are likely teams out there that would be happy to add Fitzpatrick. One top destination could be the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys’ quarterback depth has been destroyed by injuries. Dak Prescott is out for the year with a gruesome ankle injury and Andy Dalton is currently sidelined with a concussion.

On the season, Fitzpatrick has thrown for 1,535 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s also led the Dolphins to a 3-3 start on the season thanks to a two-game winning streak that Miami will look to extend this weekend against the Los Angeles Rams.

The NFL’s trade deadline is on Nov.  3.
