Report: Miami Dolphins promote Tua Tagovailoa to starting quarterback

1 Min Read

The Miami Dolphins reportedly have named rookie quarterback Tua Tagovalioa as their starting quarterback.

Tagovailoa made his NFL debut in Sunday’s win over the New York Jets. He completed both of his pass attempts for nine yards.

The Dolphins selected Tagovailoa with the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The move comes as a bit of a surprise, since Miami has gone 3-3 under veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The Dolphins are currently on their bye week, but Tagovailoa will be the starter when they take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8.
