Report: Miami Dolphins to have scouts at highly anticipated Minnesota-Michigan football game

When the University of Michigan Wolverines and University of Minnesota Golden Gophers take the field on Saturday night, the Miami Dolphins will be one of a number of NFL teams with scouts in attendance.

The Wolverines have sent countless players to the NFL and while no Michigan players are referenced, it’s not hard to discern some of the potential names.

Strong safety Brad Hawkins is a solid tackler, while two potential underclassmen who might enter the 2021 NFL Draft are DE Aidan Hutchinson and LB Cameron McGrone.

On offense, the Wolverines’ top receiving options include tight end Nick Eubanks and wide receiver Nico Collins, while another potential underclassman to watch is offensive tackle Jalen Mayfield.

The Golden Gophers haven’t been as prolific as the Wolverines in recent decades when it comes to talent. Their top five prospects are all either actual or redshirt juniors, but all have shown the ability to be in contention for making the move to the NFL.

Wide receiver Rashod Bateman is a deep threat and is joined by another receiving option, Chris Autman-Bell. Meanwhile, offensive tackle Daniel Faalele brings massive size up front.

Defensive end Boye Mafe combines strength and quickness, though his numbers have remained under the radar during his collegiate career.

At cornerback, Benjamin St-Juste brings size and speed that could make a strong secondary even stronger next season for Dolphins.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Saturday night’s game will mark the opener for both teams. Originally, the Big Ten had cancelled its season before then changing course last month.

Whether or not any of the above players eventually compete for the Dolphins or other players emerge during the contest is unknown. However, it’s clear that the contest will have talent all over the field.
