Report: Miami Dolphins have had conversations to acquire Le’Veon Bell

Superstar running back Le’Veon Bell is there for the taking for the Miami Dolphins, and the team has reportedly already discussed potentially adding the new free agent.

In fact, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Dolphins were among the teams who discussed a possible trade with Bell’s former team, the New York Jets.

“The last conversations for a trade that the Jets had were with the Miami Dolphins, were with the Las Vegas Raiders, the New England Patriots,” Schefter said.

Now, the Dolphins could certainly be in the mix in trying to sign Bell.

Though Bell has been underwhelming since joining the Jets, the two-time All-Pro would almost certainly offer an upgrade in the backfield.

Last year, Bell struggled behind a woeful Jets’ offensive line and gained just 789 yards on 245 attempts. He scored three rushing touchdowns on the season.

Back in 2017, Bell rushed for 1,291 yards and nine rushing touchdowns on 321 attempts. Without a doubt, the team that signs Bell will hope that he can reclaim that previous success.

At just 28 years old, Bell likely has some gas left in the tank. A running back as experienced and talented as him could help veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick as an elite weapon on offense.

He could also potentially help rookie Tua Tagovailoa should the youngster appear in any games in the first season of his NFL career.
