Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores revealed that rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is already showing some growing pains since padded practices have gotten underway.
The No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft has done some things to impress Flores, but he has also had his rough moments so far.
Tagovailoa will have many tools at his disposal this season.
He will have the mentorship of veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The veteran is expected to be the Dolphins’ Week 1 starting quarterback.
In addition, offensive coordinator Chan Gailey recently explained how he plans to help Tagovailoa succeed this season and beyond.
There is a lot of pressure on the University of Alabama product to deliver in Miami.
The Dolphins drafted Tagovailoa with their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft despite concerns over a hip injury he suffered last season.
While it is expected that all rookies will go through growing pains, Flores and the Dolphins will definitely be looking to see how Tagovailoa progresses over the next few weeks of practice.
