Ryan Fitzpatrick Shows Off Insane New Quarantine Beard During Conference Call

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick already had a beard that got plenty of attention, but he’s now showing off what looks like a result of barbershops being closed for the past two months.

The reason that Fitzpatrick and others have been unable to patronize barbershops is due to the safety protocols that have been instituted to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Other than the noticeably gray and white features in Fitzpatrick’s beard, the facial hair doesn’t look all that different from that of past years.

Fitzpatrick first began growing the beard to combat the cold when he began playing for the Buffalo Bills in 2009. Five teams later, the beard remains, even if the warm climate of Miami doesn’t often require protection against dipping temperatures.

Despite the mixed reviews that Fitzpatrick has received about the beard from family members over the years, he’s kept it, and in the process, has become a reliable NFL quarterback.

Fitzpatrick enters the 2020 season as the likely starter for the Dolphins, with top draft pick Tua Tagovailoa expected to use this year as a chance to fully regain his health and learn the team’s offense.

While Fitzpatrick is expected to serve as a quarterback mentor for the newcomer, there’s no indication that Tagovailoa plans on following in his footsteps when it comes to growing a beard.
