Report: Ex-Dolphins Running Back Has Charges of Aggravated Battery Against Pregnant Woman Dropped

The charges of aggravated battery of a pregnant woman against former Miami Dolphins running back Mark Walton have been dropped.

The news of the dropped charges was first reported on Wednesday.

Walton was cut by the Dolphins back on Nov. 19, 2019 after he was arrested on the charges.

“According to the police report from Davie, Fla., Walton got into an argument with the woman, whose name was withheld, around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday,” Victor Mather of the New York Times reported. “He pushed her against a wall and ‘punched her several times in the face and head,’ leaving her with swelling around her left eye.

“The woman is five weeks pregnant and Walton is the father, the police said, noting in the report that he had been informed of the pregnancy on Sunday.”

While the dropped charges are certainly good news for Walton, fans should not expect to see him back on an NFL field anytime soon. He has a history of personal conduct issues as well as run-ins with the law.

In fact, at the time of his arrest last year, Walton was already serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct and substance abuse policies.

In seven games with the Dolphins, Walton rushed for 235 yards on 67 attempts.
