On Thursday, the Los Angeles Rams shocked the football world by releasing star running back Todd Gurley.
Now on the open market, Gurley has reportedly listed the Miami Dolphins amongst the teams he is most interested in joining.
While the Dolphins have already brought in running back Jordan Howard to help bolster their running game, signing Gurley would offer them an opportunity to have a true star at the position.
Through Gurley experienced a down year last season, his 2017 and 2018 seasons were both incredibly strong.
Surely, he hopes that a change in scenery will allow him to recapture his past success.
When it comes to the Dolphins’ depth at running back, bringing Gurley in to play alongside Howard could work out quite well. One of the primary concerns regarding the former Rams star is his longevity.
If Miami were able to pair Gurley with Howard, it could potentially help the former University of Georgia standout extend his prime years.
Despite his lackluster yardage total last season (875), Gurley still managed to score 12 touchdowns. Only four backs got into the end zone more times last season.
That alone proves Gurley’s value and goes to show that he’s still one of the best home-run threats in the league today.
