Miami Dolphins News: Dolphins Re-Sign Adrian Colbert to 1-Year, $1.775M Deal

The Miami Dolphins will be bringing back safety Adrian Colbert.

On Thursday, it was reported that the Dolphins had signed Colbert to a one-year deal.

Last season, Colbert recorded 22 total tackles and two passes defended in six total appearances. Prior to last season, he had spent his first years in the league playing for the San Francisco 49ers.

Colbert played a strong role in the Dolphins’ strong close to the season. The six games that he suited up for were the six final games of the 2019 season.

He shined in an overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals, recording two solo tackles and two assist tackles. In the following week’s win over the New England Patriots, Colbert notched four solo tackles and one assist tackle.

Given his contributions at the end of the season, it’s quite likely that Colbert will enter training camp in good position to compete for a starting job.

The potential to be named a starter at the onset of the season would mark quite the ascension for a player that first entered the league as the No. 229 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
