Miami Dolphins News: Chris Foerster Resigns From Team After Incriminating Video Surfaces

Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Chris Foerster resigned on Monday after a video of him snorting a white substance surfaced online on Sunday.

Both Foerster and the team released statements to the team’s official site regarding his resignation.

“I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions,” Foerster said. “I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals.”

The team echoed Foerster’s words, saying that the main focus was for the former coach to seek the help he needs.

“We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior,” the team said. “After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time.”

Head coach Adam Gase discussed the incident on Monday as well.

“It’s not a good situation,” Gase said according to ESPN. “It’s not something you expect. But things happen sometimes that you don’t anticipate and you have to deal with it. It’s not fun, especially when you’re close to somebody. But you gotta take the next step and move on, because we’re going to play on Sunday.”

ESPN also reported that Foerster was one of the highest-paid assistant coaches in the NFL, with an estimated salary between $2.5 million and $3 million a year. Foerster was brought onto the Dolphins’ coaching staff in 2016, but has been an offensive line coach in the NFL since 1993.

While other coaches in the NFL have been able to get second chances following controversy, it may be difficult for Foerster to find himself another job in the NFL after this disturbing and embarrassing incident.
