When the Miami Dolphins signed former Los Angeles Rams safety T.J. McDonald back in March, they knew he was going to be suspended for the first eight games of the 2017-18 NFL regular season due to substance abuse.
The Dolphins are so impressed with McDonald throughout training camp and the team’s preseason games that they rewarded him with a four-year, $24 million contract extension according to ESPN’s James Walker.
McDonald, who was drafted by the Rams in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the University of Southern California, has recorded 285 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions in his first four NFL seasons.
