10 Things Jay Cutler Brings to the Miami Dolphins

6. Potential for a High-Powered Offense

While in Chicago, Cutler had talented players on offense like wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, tight end Martellus Bennett and running back Matt Forte.

None of those players are with the Bears anymore, but Cutler inherited arguably the best offensive talent he’s ever had when he signed with Miami earlier this month.

Cutler is now in his third week of work with the Dolphins and continues to adjust to the roster with constant first-team reps during training. The Miami quarterback already has a high amount of praise for one of his teammates in second-year wide receiver DeVante Parker, who he recently compared to a faster version of former teammate Jeffery.

However, Dolphins slot receiver and rising star Jarvis Landry knows there stills needs to be work done in order to get the team chemistry with Cutler up to par before the regular season opens up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Everything’s good now, just from the simple fact that he’s played in the system before so he knows all the checks and where guys are supposed to be,” Landry said after practice on Monday. “So now it’s just getting him used to our body language when coming in and out of breaks. He’s done a good job of that so far, but we’ve still got work to do.”
