Miami Dolphins wide receiver and return man Jakeem Grant confidently stated on Tuesday that he’s the fastest player on the team.

He added that he would beat anyone on the roster in a race.
Jakeem Grant, asked what the result would be of a race between him and anyone else on Miami's roster: "I will remain the fastest player on the Dolphins."

It’s clear that Grant doesn’t lack confidence, and that’s typically a good quality for a player to have. As for Grant’s claim, it’s tough to gauge whether or not there truly is a player on the roster who’s faster than him.
Grant has spent his entire NFL career with the Dolphins so far. He is a nice success story. He was picked in the sixth round of the 2016 draft, and he has vastly exceeded expectations.
A lot of his value comes as a punt and kick returner. In the 2020 season, he averaged 11.4 yards per return on punts, and he even took one to the house. On kickoffs, he averaged 21.5 yards per return.
His best season as a return man came in the 2018 campaign. That year, he averaged 16.3 yards per return on punts and 29.7 yards per return on kickoffs. He had both a punt return and kickoff return for a touchdown.
The 28-year-old is hoping to make a big impact in the 2021 season.
