Report: Liam Eichenberg leaves Miami Dolphins practice with injury
- Updated: August 26, 2021
Miami Dolphins rookie Liam Eichenberg reportedly left practice on Thursday with a right leg injury.
“Miami Dolphins rookie offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg left Thursday’s practice with what appeared to be a right leg injury,” wrote Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel.
The extent of the injury is unknown, but the Dolphins are certainly hoping that it’s nothing serious. Miami was high enough on Eichenberg to select him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and losing him for an extended period of time would be a major blow.
Miami’s offensive line was one of the worst in the league last season, so the unit can’t afford to be losing key players.
Eichenberg turned some heads during his time at the University of Notre Dame. His play shot him up draft boards. The fate of his rookie season at the NFL level might depend on the severity of his injury.
Time will tell how serious the leg issue is. The team will hopefully provide an update as soon as one becomes available.
