Head coach Brian Flores commented on Gailey’s resignation with a note of appreciation.

Gailey, 69, completed his 21st season as an NFL coach and second stint with the Dolphins.
Although the Dolphins recently saw their season come to an end, they showed promise and potential for the future.
Still, Gailey didn’t fully provide what players were looking for. In fact, there was reportedly internal frustration about his play-calling at times this season.
The Dolphins vacillated between playing rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick this season.
Gailey recently attempted to answer who the team trusts more after the Dolphins’ miraculous win over the Las Vegas Raiders at the end of 2020.
Now, the Dolphins will enter the 2021 offseason with one more spot to fill.
