Zach Sieler’s agent does not expect the Miami Dolphins to move the defensive tackle before the trade deadline.
Sieler’s agent Drew Rosenhaus would be “shocked” if Sieler were traded. The update gives Miami fans a new indication of how Sieler’s representation views his future after the Dolphins earned their first victory of the season.
“Zach has made it clear he wants to stay here,” Rosenhaus said on WSVN. “I have not had any discussion with the Dolphins or any other team about [him] being traded. There had been no discussions about that.”
It also advances a discussion Sieler addressed before the win. The veteran previously made clear that he wants to remain in Miami, expressing support for head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan.
Those are two distinct parts of the situation: Sieler has stated his preference, and his agent now considers a departure unlikely. Neither amounts to a public commitment from the Dolphins to reject offers.
Zach Sieler helped protect Dolphins’ lead against Jets
Sunday’s game offered a timely example of the contribution Miami would have to replace if it moved Sieler.
As Travis Wingfield detailed on the team’s website, the Jets reached first-and-goal inside the 1-yard line in the fourth quarter with Miami ahead 21-14. Sieler made the first of three consecutive plays that pushed New York backward, recording a tackle for loss.
Josh Uche followed with another tackle for loss before Chop Robinson finished the stand with a sack. The Jets settled for a field goal, keeping Miami in front in a game the Dolphins ultimately won 28-25.
The sequence illustrates the football side of the trade discussion. A return in draft assets would need to be weighed against removing a player who helped the defense preserve a lead in a tight divisional game.
For Miami, the question is how much future value an offer would provide compared with Sieler’s value on the field. Rosenhaus’ reported assessment points toward continuity, while leaving the eventual roster decision with Sullivan.
