The Miami Dolphins will face a Detroit Lions team missing five players Sunday, with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown also carrying a questionable designation.

Detroit’s final injury report ruled out linebacker Jack Campbell, safety Kerby Joseph, center Cade Mays, cornerback D.J. Reed and edge defender DJ Wonnum. St. Brown remains uncertain with a rib injury.

Lions final injury report vs. Dolphins

Player Position Injury Game status
Jack Campbell LB Neck Out
Kerby Joseph S Knee Out
Cade Mays C Ankle Out
D.J. Reed CB Hip Out
DJ Wonnum EDGE Concussion Out
Amon-Ra St. Brown WR Rib Questionable
Jacob Saylors RB Neck Questionable
Sione Vaki RB Ankle Questionable
Brian Branch DB Concussion No designation
Amen Ogbongbemiga LB Toe No designation
Rock Ya-Sin CB Cramps No designation

The report turns the concerns outlined in Thursday’s Dolphins-Lions injury update into confirmed absences. For Miami, the changes extend across Detroit’s defensive coverage, pass rush and offensive line.

Lions must adjust their defense against Dolphins

Reed is sidelined by a hip injury, while Wonnum remains out with a concussion. Their absences leave Detroit needing to replace work at both cornerback and edge rusher, creating two areas for Miami to assess when planning its passing game.

Rookie Derrick Moore is expected to take on more work with Wonnum unavailable. Coach Dan Campbell also mentioned practice squad edge rusher Anthony Lucas as a possible addition to the game roster.

Those changes do not remove Detroit’s ability to pressure Malik Willis. The same report credited defensive tackle Alim McNeill with 31 pressures and 4.5 sacks this season, giving Miami an interior protection concern alongside edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson.

That makes identifying where Detroit is using replacement personnel more useful than treating the entire front as depleted. Extra attention devoted to one established pass rusher can still leave a different blocker responsible for a difficult one-on-one assignment.

Jack Campbell’s neck injury also changes the responsibilities behind that front. Derrick Barnes and Malcolm Rodriguez are preparing to handle defensive calls and checks.

Defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard said both players had previously worn the communication helmet, with the possibility of sharing that responsibility. Miami can test those adjustments through its formations and movement, but Detroit is turning to players familiar with the job.

Amon-Ra St. Brown questionable as Detroit loses Cade Mays

Mays will miss the game with an ankle injury, leaving Detroit to adjust at center. St. Brown’s designation creates a separate question for Miami’s defensive preparation: whether the Lions will have the receiver available alongside their replacement offensive-line arrangement.

Running backs Jacob Saylors and Sione Vaki are also questionable, with neck and ankle injuries, respectively. Vaki appeared on the report Friday as a nonparticipant after not being listed earlier in the week.

Detroit did receive better news on Brian Branch. After consecutive full practices, the defensive back has no game designation, even as Joseph remains out with a knee injury.

Miami also gained clarity on its offensive line Friday when Jeff Hafley confirmed Kadyn Proctor had cleared concussion protocol. His availability gives the Dolphins another piece of their blocking plan as Detroit prepares to redistribute work along its defensive front.
