A mysterious report regarding the Miami Dolphins surfaced recently. An X user that goes by “Slick Rick” made a post on Friday indicating that the Dolphins are trading away an “All-Pro player,” but there was no information given as to the identity of the player.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald was asked about the report, and while he appeared to know a little bit about the matter, he asserted that the rumor is “not confirmed.”
Labeling the Dolphins player in question as an “All-Pro player” doesn’t narrow down the list of possible candidates as much as some folks might think it would.
There are indeed some high-profile players on the team who have earned All-Pro selections during their careers, such as cornerback Jalen Ramsey and wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
Hill has even seen his name in headlines lately for off-the-field drama, as he allegedly got into a domestic dispute with his wife Keeta recently, though no charges were filed.
However, there are also those on the team who have earned All-Pro honors before who might not be household names, at least not compared to someone like Tyreek Hill, who’s widely recognized as one of the most talented offensive players in the league today.
Punter Jake Bailey and kicker Jason Sanders are two players who fall under that umbrella. Bailey earned the only All-Pro nod of his career thus far back in the 2020 campaign when he was playing for the New England Patriots. Interestingly, Sanders’ lone All-Pro selection came in the very same season, though he was with the Dolphins then and has been for his entire NFL career.
Considering no major Dolphins reporter has come out to corroborate the original rumor as of yet, folks should take it with a grain of salt. Maybe the team is in the process of trading an All-Pro player, but who exactly Miami is trading if that’s the case is up in the air.
Ultimately, fans are left to speculate on the validity of the report until Jackson or another prominent Dolphins reporter gives the rumor a stamp of approval.
